Wrington Greens
People who love food, love variety.
We hope the interesting and unusual varieties we grow shows our passion for fresh produce. We grow lots of heritage seed varieties, chosen especially for their look and flavour. These are difficult to find in your local supermarket, as they require more care and attention to grow, which makes them unpopular with large-scale producers. Here’s a taster of what you can enjoy from Wrington Greens:
- Eight varieties of weird and wonderful chillies including the fiercely hot Scotch Bonnet and the strangely contorted Friars Cap.
- Every conceivable colour of tomato ranging from red, through green-and-white striped to jet-black.
- Podded ’shelly’ beans you can eat fresh like peas. They come in an amazing array of colours and are both delicious and really nutritious.
- A huge variety of salad leaves from the common-or-garden lettuce to the frilly and aromatic Shungiku leaf.
- Edible flowers – these are a speciality of ours and liven up any salad.
- Nine varieties of pumpkins and squashes including the long and bizarrely twisted Trombolino squash – popular for its deliciously sweet and nutty flavour.
- Cima de Rapa - the Italian leaf that everyone’s talking about.
We specialise in growing for restaurants who only accept and use top quality produce. Picked every morning, the produce is with our customers on the same day so it couldn't be fresher.
